Migration Data Portal Offers Timely and Comprehensive Migration Statistics
Berlin – IOM’s Migration Data Portal has launched a new dashboard featuring a series of tools to help policy makers, national statistics officers, journalists and the general public gain access to the latest data on migration.
The users can explore international migration statistics on a world map. Data is available on a variety of topics, including immigration and emigration, public opinion and migrant integration, and it can be compared using different indicators. The users can choose the country or region they are interested in, select up to four countries or regions they would like to compare, and select the year or years they would like to see the data on.
“We're excited to launch these new features, which were developed based on the feedback received by its users, people from around the world looking for reliable and timely migration data,” said Frank Laczko, IOM's Global Migration Data Analysis Centre (GMDAC) Director.
Launched in December 2017, the Portal promotes collaboration between the International Organization for Migration (IOM) and other agencies to provide reliable and accessible data, as well as analysis on migrant statistics. The Portal is managed by IOM’s GMDAC in Berlin.
