Enjoy Global Migration Film Festival 2020 from home
IOM's Global Migration Film Festival (GMFF) has started. This year's festival is online, and open mass screenings will be held from December 14–19.
This year you can enjoy IOM's Global Migration Film Festival from your home. During this week IOM screens five movies – one movie every night – at 20h (Finnish time). The films and documentaries depict the promise and challenges of migration, and the unique contributions that migrants make to their new communities.
Global Migration Film Festival is IOM's annual festival during which IOM's offices all around the world screen migration related movies. The festival begins at the end of November and culminates on 18th of December in the observance of International Migrants Day.
The goal of the festival is to pave the way for greater discussion around one of the greatest phenomenon of our time. Films have the power to show different facets of life, which can in turn help viewers to cultivate deeper empathy for migrants and a better understanding of their realities, needs, perspectives and capacities.
The screenings will take place online and are free of charge. Join us by registering for the screenings here.
