Our WorkAs the leading inter-governmental organization promoting humane and orderly migration, IOM plays a key role to support the achievement of the 2030 Agenda through different areas of intervention that connect both humanitarian assistance and sustainable development. In Finland, IOM facilitates migrants’ integration, promotes development cooperation, assists victims of trafficking, and engages in refugee resettlement and migrants’ voluntary returns. IOM Finland’s operations cover Finland, Sweden and Iceland.

Are you part of the Somali diaspora in Finland? Would you be interested in learning more about job opportunities in Somalia? In the MIDA FINNSOM project, qualified Somali diaspora experts return temporarily to Somalia to help rebuild the country’s health and education sectors. The project is implemented by IOM, in partnership with the Ministry of Health and Human Services (MoHHS) and the Ministry of Education, Culture and Higher Education (MoECHE) of the Federal Government of Somalia and financed by the Ministry for Foreign Affairs of Finland.
